Below you will discover the top 6 tips for building a successful IG account organically that drives leads and customers to your business.
Instagram is an engine⚙️ that has several moving parts and these tips you are about to get will help you ignite it and get you results very quickly.
1. Market Research
You have to understand your audience and what attracts them as a consumer.
No one gets super excited when they see your products FOR JUST $9.99, BUY RIGHT NOW!!!! That simply doesn’t happen. Research what your audience likes the most and what they would like to see (don’t forget you have to think as the buyer, not the seller). Find what other pages are doing and analyze what is getting good engagement and what is not, find what you can improve to outwork those pages in order to stand out and separate yourself from the averages.
2. Post with Purpose😉
You have to create/curate content with purpose. Create/Use content that is engaging that drives people to like and comment and be more curious about your brand, content that they can relate to (by using market research). When you already found what your audience like compile a list of the best performing posts and have that list of content ready to cover one month of posting, that way you will only post the best of the best and it will guarantee you success. (repeat every month)
3. Consistency
If you did your homework in market research you probably noticed that every successful post consistent content, you will never have the results that you want if you put minimum work to get by. For creators at least once a day and for curators 3 times a day (Let me know in the comments if you want me to address posting optimization in another article). Also if you have the money and posting it’s a bit of a headache, you can always hire someone that knows his stuff to do it for you.
4. Captions
Instagram is a free platform, they make money by showing you ads so the more time you spend in the platform the more money they make that’s why if you can make your audience stay on the platform longer they are going to reward you with more exposure. Captions are a good way of keeping the attention of your audience, ask questions that encourage people to answer, humans like to give opinions about topics (and they also like to be heard so always try to reply your comments if they are more than 100 comments at least like those comments) Good examples of questions you can ask are:
.Where are you all from?
Comment your own country and flag!
.Can you relate?
.What’s your favorite emoji?
Comment your favorite emoji below.
.Rate this shot/object from 1-10
.Do you have a friend that love doing this?
Tag a friend that would love to do this/sucks at doing this
.Describe yourself with 5 emoji
The most unique one wins!
.Left vs Right?
Real vs Fake?
.What friend would you take to this destination?
Tag a friend you are taking to this destination
These are good general examples of captions that trigger people to give their opinions, obviously, you want to make them specifically for your brand. If you are in the dog niche you would say something like this: “Rate the level of cuteness form 1 to 10” or if you are in the travel niche you could say: “Tag a friend you are taking to this amazing hotel in Joberg, South Africa”.
5. Hashtags #
This tool allows you to get exposure if you use them the correct way. Don’t put general hashtags like #love, do your research! A mistake it’s commonly made by beginners even big pages is not using relevant hashtags if you post a picture of a cute dog, don’t put #kiss or #instabeauty, it’s better to put 5 relevant niche specific hashtags than 25 crazy ones. Also the number of hashtags is important, a lot of people say that you have to use all of the 30 “hashtags per post” and other say that IG doesn’t like that and it’s better to use only 5, I honestly think a mix of both theories is the best way to go 10-15 hashtags will be the right spot for me.
6. Networking🌐
Instagram is a social media platform, how are you going to succeed in it without being social, it doesn’t make sense right?. Did you know that if an account likes your content a percentage of his followers have a chance to see your post? So if a 30k account likes your post that will be much more powerful than a 500 account. You need to network with big pages, but how can you do that? GIVE VALUE first and then ask. Start with accounts with 5k to 10k and work your way up (You can also start with 100k accounts). Utilize these clever words that someone used to get me in his Dm group. You would say: “Hey I love your content and the way you are you projecting the image of your brand, I’m starting a Dm group with 100k+ highly active accounts in the same niche, Would you like to join” Now you are giving value to them they only have to say yes and they are going be with other 100k accounts, you message 40 accounts, only 10 say yes, you add them and BUM! You have a Dm group with 100k+ accounts.
With this 6 tips you are going to get a lot of exposure it’s in your hands to convert that traffic into sales and customers. You will have sales organically by having the link in your bio but you can also use more creative ways. So how do you get them to buy your product? STORIES and LIVES are the best way to get sales. You can literally ask them if they would like this product and later with PIN stories you can see the people that said yes and send them a Dm with the offer simple. Plz, make your story “a story” don’t just put BUY NOW!! With a picture of the product! Make a video using the product and ask them an engaging question.

3 Secrets to Facebook Marketing
Many people fail on Facebook Advertising. This is because they BOOST ADVERTS which doesn’t work. Below are 3 Secrets to Facebook Marketing that will deliver over 100 leads even if you have never used Facebook before.
SECRET #1 LOCATION, LOCATION,
LOCATION BASED TARGETING
Your customer base isn’t all of Kenya in most cases, its where your business is located. If its in Nairobi, try to use Nairobi as the location, not the whole country. Facebook defaults to this massive zone around your business, so you have to be very careful.
Don’t waste money like companies with countrywide ad coverage, most of those companies have big budgets which you don’t, and you don’t want to attract ‘can’t be my customers’ customers. Your time gets wasted with responses too far away like Kisumu/Isiolo.
Zoning your location stops 90% of the budget going to waste.
SECRET #2 THUMB – STOPPING ATTENTION – GETTING CLICK – WORTHY ACT – NOW OFFER
90% of Small Businesses in Kenya and the rest of the world say Facebook Adverts don’t work. We Tried, No Response.
Facebook adverts don’t work if you don’t have a click – worthy offer, which most companies don’t have.
They also don’t work if you don’t have an attention getting photo, collage or video.
You have to offer something worth clicking and worth breaking a habit over.
Great Facebook adverts are built in 5 steps – each step for a specific reason. Follow the 6 steps below and you’ll get results, don’t and you won’t.
Find below an example advert we had used for a massage parlor in Nairobi that got great results;
- Call out the location, i’e Hey Nairobi
- Call out the pain
- Give an offer
- Show Scarcity
- Do Branding
SECRET #3; PLACING PLACEMENTS WHERE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PLACED
Placements are where the Facebook advert appears, more like a billboard, tv or magazine
There are 8 different and unique placements that facebook provides across 4 platforms, check them out below;
The best placement is News Feed, it shows your advert on a bigger screen and most people react better to it than the rest.
Facebook wants to run your advert everywhere and get the most money from you, but you want your advert to run where it will get the most results. Your aim should be to only drive leads, results and actionable customers.
To recap it all…
Don’t let Facebook determine your location. Always target your serviceable zones who are people who can come over to your shop and buy from you. You shouldn’t target a location you cannot service.
Remember that 90% Facebook Adverts don’t hit their goals. Always try to have a human focused photo that draws peoples attention and focus on the 5 steps while setting up the adverts to ensure the advert converts.
Facebook wants to spend your money fast so run your advert where it gets the most leads. Always choose Newsfeed placement for the best results. Only do Instagram and the rest when you specifically want to be seen on those platforms, but newsfeed will always give the best results.
Don’t waste your money on Facebook advertising if you feel unsure of how to go about it, we can help, just get in touch.
10 Steps for free leads on Facebook…
Facebook Page Marketing
Facebook is a really cool place, partly because everyone is there. If you are trying to put a targeted group of people on your list, they are there too.
So how do you pull those people out of facebook and put them on your list? Here is one way that won’t cost you a dime:
Step 1. Create a facebook page for your lead magnet (an article your target clients can find valuable). Be sure to link it back to your opt-in and utilize the advertising space of your facebook page’s cover picture to promote that lead magnet.
Step 2. Create a post on your page about your lead magnet, include a link, and pin that post to the top.
Step 3. Link your facebook profile to your lead magnet facebook page by changing where you work to your facebook page.
Step 4. Next go ahead and change your facebook profile cover picture to promote your lead magnet and your lead magnet facebook page.
Step 5. Join about 5 to 10 facebook groups that are related to your niche and have at least 1,000 members. Make sure these groups are active.
Step 6. Dedicate 5 minutes a day to each of these groups. Just be a part of the group. Like, comment, and post niche related questions and content in the group.
Step 7. Any positive interaction with other people in the group (i.e. liking your posts, commenting on your posts, you liking someone elses post) then friend request that person. Friend request 5 to 10 people a day. No more than that.
Step 8. Do simple facebook livestreams a few times a week, or if you don’t want to do that, post content on your profile a few times a week. Make sure this content has entertainment value, actionable content and pitches your lead magnet.
Step 9. Once a week, invite all your friends to like your lead magnet facebook page.
Step 10. Periodically create a facebook event for your lead magnet and invite all your facebook friends to attend. Be sure to include the link to your lead magnet opt-in page.
That’s it. This little system will get targeted people on your friends list, they will in turn see your live streams and/or content, and then in turn join your email list. It works great.
Go forth and crush it!
That’s it for today. Be sure to take action on these strategies and tactics we are talking about. The best laid plans fall to nothing if no action is taken.
